G Loomis:
GLX--The lightest most sensitive rods available anywhere!!! These blanks are small in diameter, have a very fast and crisp action for there weight and are a pleasure to fish (smoke gray in color)..
IMX-- Very similar to the GLX, these are light and crisp blanks. When compared side by side to the GLX, most users cannot tell the difference and the cost savings over GLX are substantial. These are generally considered the best worm and jig rods and are one of the best values anywhere (smoke gray in color).
GL3--These blanks are slightly slower (not as stiff) and heavier than the IMX, they are very tough and considering their warranty, they are a great value. (mahogany in color).
CB Series--Crankbait series, These blended graphite blanks are amazing for any bait with treble hooks. These rods have all that a fiberglass rod offers with less than half the weight and ten times the sensitivity. If you like the action of a fiberglass crankbait rod, you will be amazed at how much more you can feel with these (brown in color).
St Croix::
SC V--These are the best blanks St Croix offers. The graphite is light and sensitive and the only thing on the market that is as good is the GLX by G Loomis. Generally though, St Croix blanks are a little larger in diameter and slightly thicker walled than the G Loomis blanks. This makes a slightly heavier blank than the G Loomis blanks, but they are generally a little stiffer and have a slower taper. There are some techniques that these blanks are better suited to than the G Loomis blanks. They are typically discounted better to custom builders and thus are normally cost $50 to $75 less than the G Loomis GLX. (forest green in color).
SC VI--These blanks are generally compared to the G Loomis IMX blanks, the tapers are basically identical to the SC V blanks, they are not quite as stiff and as sensitive, but are very nice and are a pleasure to fish. (blue in color).
SC III--These blanks are generally compared to the G Loomis GL3 blanks, but that is a mistake! St Croix hit a home run with these, they are light, sensative and nothing is given up when it comes to backbone when compared to the SC IV's. For someone looking for a great warranty and demanding exceptional value for their money, this is it!!! (gray in color)
